Seamless Integration Services
With businesses using so many different software programs to fill their needs, at times it is necessary that the different programs work together to get the end results they are looking for. In those situations, middleware is required. In the computer industry, middleware is a general term for any programming that serves to “glue together” or mediate between two separate and often already existing programs.
Middleware programs result into high data accuracy and huge savings in terms of time and money. It greatly reduces data re-encoding and speeds up the flow of accurate information from one system to another.
Following are some of Aries experiences:
1. Asialink Finance Corporation. We developed a middleware program to automatically upload check voucher, official receipt and journal voucher transactions from their in-house developed Loan Management System to ARIES. THe uploading process followed a set of data validation and conversion protocols to ensure data integrity and BIR CAS compliance criteria. The data source and data destination were both MS SQL Server databases.
2. Mitsuwa Chemical Philippines. Inc. For Mitsuwa, we developed a middleware program to automatically upload purchase orders, inventory transactions (RR, FG production, materials issuance, sales return and WIP), and sales invoices from their in-house manufacturing system to ARIES. Similar to Asialink, the uploading process used a set of data validation and conversion protocols to ensure data integrity and BIR CAS compliance criteria. The data source is MS Excel and the data destination is MS SQL Server.
3. Republic Biscuit Corporation. Rebisco has many distributors nationwide which send delivery receipt transactions on a daily basis. Instead of extending the ARIES system to each distributor and incurs high license fees and hardware costs, Rebisco requested for a middleware program to convert DR data in excel spreadsheets to the ARIES database. This program provided them with a practical, inexpensive and convenient solution in their orders procesing operations.
4. Golden ABC Corporation. We developed a middleware program to automatically generate accounting entries from uploaded Point-of-Sale (POS) transactions of the hundreds of the company’s retail stores nationwide. The program converts to journal voucher accounting entries the POS transactions such as cash and credit card sales, discounts, and output tax on a per store basis. This program automated the tedious, time-consuming and costly daily encoding of daily sales reports to the accounting system.
